Here I am again in this mean old town,
And you're so far away from me.
And where are you when the sun goes down?
You're so far away from me...

Hello there, kiddies, and welcome back to Being... Yes, my baby was so far away from me for two weeks last month, while she took a cruise and visited her sister in Florida. Then, after spending a week at home, she went away again this past weekend... but she's back now. I missed her. We talk on the phone every night, and it just didn't feel right not being able to hear from her.

We both enjoyed the chicken cordon bleu I cooked up before she left for FL, and the sushi (mmm, sushi...) we ordered last weekend. Wednesday's dinner was pretty good, too, as was the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Woo-hoo! I went to my friend and former co-worker Yesika's baby shower this afternoon, without Gina unfortunately, as she was away. The party was nice, but I should've known that, as it was thrown by Hispanics for Hispanics, it didn't really start until almost three hours after the time listed on the invitation.

Out of the blue, I got a phone call at work the other day from someone who needed help with his old and new Macintoshes. I went out and did what I could for him Saturday and made some extra money, always a nice thing... I think another former co-worker is responsible for getting my name out there as a 'Mac Daddy,' though I'll have to get in touch with her to find out for sure. I wasn't expecting any freelance work, but it was a nice surprise.

What I've really been working on lately is the album, if you hadn't noticed. I finished recording the last song, "Today," and the opening poem, "Gasp..." this morning. I should have them both edited within the next day or two, though I'm going to take some time on mixing all the album tracks just right. I've gotten artwork from Steve, and started putting together my own collage; once I get the remaining artwork from Jon, I'll be just about ready to get this thing rolling.

Of course, the idea is to actually sell some copies of the CD when it's complete. I'm preparing a blitz of new buttons, stickers, pens, flyers, and who knows what else; I've got to promote this thing as heavily as possible. If anyone is interested in helping out, drop me a line at promo @ andersensilva.com with your address and I'll send ya some stuff you can hand out or post up. Ask yer local music store (not Sam Goody or Coconuts) if they'd be interested in carrying a few copies. Tell the school librarian that the library needs one. Convince the DJ at your favorite club to buy and spin it. Whatever it takes.

Well, I've got a sore toe (from walking) and a sore finger (from playing bass and guitar), and I think the third beer from the baby shower is wearing off. I'm goin' to bed. See ya when I see ya.
