Lyrics: "Spark Rekindled"

She gazed into my eyes,
And got tangled up in blue.
We sat in quiet content,
     And made one from two.

Watched the geese go by
While on the bench, we kissed.
Time seemed to stop for us,
Each the other could not resist.

Helped her out of a jam, I guess,
Came on too strong, of course.
She went away, and I went nowhere,
Must admit I became a little hoarse.

Stayed in touch for a while,
     But our lives grew apart.
No matter how far away,
She remained deep in my heart.

Time passed, and she reappeared,
Fell into each other's arms once again.
The spark of romance was rekindled,
Picked up my guitar and I picked up my pen.

Inspired by my muse, I was,
I wrote and played and sang many tunes.
The most she will do is throw shadows at you,
But we had many amorous noons.

We found ourselves distant once more,
I got the blues before and after.
But once again, we came together,
Joy in the now, fun in the laughter.

She'd been strong for so long,
My warrior babe, livin' on a prayer.
Took her to the willows one morn,
And to the beach, 'cos she loves it there.

We were both smitten and we both got stung,
Together we've worked and we've walked and we've sung.
Her hand in mine, I feel I'm still young,
Constantly I find her name on my tongue.

I will hold her for as long as she likes,
This rekindled spark burns fiercely in me!
Hopeless romantic, no matter what comes,
I will always love her madly.
