Poem: "Awe?"

How majestic.
The stars, like ultra-crisp grains of dust,
     The moon, a brilliant half-orb,
Dazzling in their scope,
     In their distance,
     In their age...

I smile angrily,
     Gaze skyward,
And proclaim, quietly but proudly,
     "I am part of you, though,
     And you are part of me, too,
Like it or not!"

My life has been interesting,
     To say the least.
There is a legacy to leave behind.
No need to feel small,
     Insignificant;
I have left my stain upon the face of the universe.

I hope it tasted good, too.
