If you've read both the Artist and the 21st Century Schizoid Man pages, you may have noticed something unusual. I'm one of those rare people who's both logical/scientific and artistic. Not that I'm claiming to be exceptional in either aspect... Heh-heh. But it does seem that I use both hemispheres of my brain a little more equally than most.

I don't know why that is. From a young age, I was very inquisitive and scientific. I grew up wanting to be an astronomer. In addition to soaking up everything I could about the heavens, I read voraciously, fiction and non-fiction alike. When my parents bought me that first computer, I set about learning how to program it, and eventually got quite good with BASIC. I've done some tinkering with electronics, and with simple mechanical stuff.

The artist in me didn't materialize until I was around 11 or so, at least as far as I can remember. I wrote a few short stories for myself, not as assignments, and I found myself enjoying writing essays, too. Some time later, I began writing the occasional poem. I didn't do nearly as much as I should have with the first two keyboards my parents bought me, but I did learn to play some melodies, and over time I got a little better. With the Hellevators, I applied some of that, and tried my hand at writing lyrics, albeit parody lyrics. Eventually, everything gelled, and I pieced together my own music and lyrics.

I suppose there's some biological reason why most people are either more creative or more analytical. I have no idea why I'm a little closer to the middle; maybe it was one of the blows to my head.  lol  I'm not complaining, of course; I'm quite comfortable in my niche. The hemispheres seem to be complementing each other pretty well. :) Let's see how long the ride will last...
