Whoa, my audio circuits are still buzzing! Took a trip to the PNC Bank Arts Center (and what the fuck is up with that?!? I can't wait 'til Bill Gates has to help the American government financially and it becomes known as "the Microsoft White House") in Andy's digital recorder on July 25 for a Def Leppard concert, and man are they some hoopy froods... Jules didn't come to the show; didn't I tell ya, twerp? More on that later...
They kicked the show off with "Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)" (predictable, but still a great song), and they proceeded to go through most of the hits. They practically played everything off Hysteria, including "Women," "Armageddon It," the confectioners' classic "Pour Some Sugar On Me," and two of Andy-Man's non-hit favorites, "Gods of War" and "Excitable." This being the Euphoria tour, they of course did "Promises," and another cool tune called "Paper Sun." Singer Joe Elliot picked up an acoustic guitar for "Two Steps Behind," and the acoustic first half of "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" kicked some major ass. Speakin' of guitar, Phil Collen wails! "New guy" Vivian Campbell is also no slouch on the axe... And the two Ricks (one-armed bandit Allen and bassist "Sav" Savage) held the rhythm together powerfully. Nice work on the classic "Rock of Ages..." And boy, the crowd was into it! From what I hear (no video input in a digital recorder, y'know), they were on their feet most of the time, and there was a helluva lot of singing along... Not that the crowd sounded good, but... Heh-heh.

"Do ya wanna get rocked?" Apparently, they did, and they were. Fortunately, they never got mushier than "Love Bites," 'cos that would have just sucked. Andy's got his own issues with Def- what?!? No, I will not shut up! These circuits are mine, baby! Huh? HEY-
(Ed. note: There appears to have been a power failure while Skinny was transmitting his column. The hard drive is OK, but regrettably, the Foo was unable to complete his thought. Ah, well... ;)
